Discovering Japanese art

Some people think that in Japan, lacking a tradition native and foreign artistic influence, the ideas just evaporate and there are a few works of art. Big mistake. Japanese art has been and still is very vital and durable.

The Chinese forms tend to be more relaxed, and the Japanese are composed as a painting, filling the motives and work space. Far from the figurines of deities we all know and see in stores, there is a world of ceramics, painting, sculpture, furniture, painting, architecture, etc., we can discover with the study of antiques, from the reserved to the erudite, and now thanks to the internet we can all enjoy.

It is an exciting world of experimentation with materials and, in my opinion, an ideal world for lovers of ceramics. This is not a well-studied area but it is very interesting, for its historical and economic value,  and particularly for its visual value as reflected natural light in these Japanese pottery reveals an assortment of colors that invite us to study each piece in detail and with great curiosity.

Imari, Satsuma ... are names that reminds to Japanese culture but we just do not really know why or if they belong to a site, a man or an object. Why not search for information and learn the basics about this ancient art? The Japanese have been for a long time reflecting social reality at their art objects, like a mirror. Learn art and history at a time.
